Fish Bone1477 viewsThe wind made this long whispy cloud look like a fish bone.

Airplane1704 viewsThe long exposures on the WeatherCam at night (sometimes as much as 16 seconds) makes for some interesting effects. Here, a plane passes by. The lights make a streak and the dots along the line are the blinking lights on the plane.

Clouds1446 viewsI get a lot of nice shots of clouds. I'll try to upload a few of the more interesting ones.

Snowfall1953 viewsA rare sight here in Altadena. Snow actually falling. Of couse it didn't stick long.

The Morning After1693 viewsThe morning after the cold winter storm blew through. Snow level was down to about 2000 feet. My house is at 1680 feet.

Meteor1573 viewsThere are two great Meteor Showers the end of July and beginning of August. The Delta Aquarid Shower which is the years longest, and the Perseids Meteor Shower which peaks on August 12. Here, the WeatherCam appears to have caught one of the Delta Aquarid meteors during one of the long exposures.

Fire1564 viewsThe glow from a small brush fire near the top of Lake Avenue can be seen on the right side of this image. Living along the foothills, we are always alert to fires. The sirens woke us up and we went up the street to watch. Quick work from the Los Angeles County Fire Department had the fire under control quickly.

Caught In The Act1866 viewsWe were out of town on July 4th. The "kids" stayed home. Here, my daughter and her friend are caught by the WeatherCam standing on our roof to watch the fireworks from the Rose Bowl.

Low Clouds1258 viewsLow clouds moved in this evening. Gave an eerie look to the WeatherCam images.
star_1.jpg
Star1008 viewsThis beautiful star is visible on many nights around the holidays. It sits on a hill top above my home. I'm trying to get more info about it and will post it here.
OK, I found out a lot more about the Star.
Read about it here

The Lowe Fire965 viewsThe WeatherCam caught several good images of the Lowe Fire (named for nearby Mt. Lowe). Quick work from the Angeles National Forest Fire Crews along with Los Angeles County resources kept the fire to around 12 acres with no structures lost.
In this image a Water Dropping Helicopter approaches to make a drop.

Faint Meteor620 viewsThanks to Chuck Weiss of La Crescenta for watching the Altadena WeatherCam and identifying the meteor in this early morning WeatherCam Image. Look closely for a faint line in the upper left quadrant of the image.
