Lightning 8/30/2017503 viewsI was sitting in my back yard enjoying a late Summer Thunderstorm. I actually SAW this Lightning Strike and didn't know the WeatherCam caught it until I was alerted by a loyal viewer, Brenna Snyder. Thanks Brenna!Sep 03, 2017

One of the Altadena WeatherCam regular viewers, Carol Doupe' Canterbury, brought this to my attention. Thank you Carol. Keep watching. She'll Be Comin' 'round The Mountain When She Comes1286 viewsThis was pointed out by Normand, one of the many fans of the Altadena WeatherCam. A nice shot of a helicopter circling over the San Gabriel's the other night. It was a Sunday evening so they were probably looking for a lost/overdue hiker. The Green and Red Navigation Lights cause the change in colors in the streak of light. Oct 07, 2014

The Bear Is Back1070 viewsThe Bear is back after a short hiatus. I had heard that Bears don’t hibernate in warm climates like Southern California but maybe this one actually did hibernate for a short time.
He was actually on the street 3 nights in a row this week. He got into trash cans on a couple of nights and left a large pile of Scat in the street. Leila was excited. She was picking up the Bear’s scent on our morning walk.

Two Times The Fun1154 viewsThis image clearly makes me think we have more than one bear visiting Holly Slope Rd. This ones color is more black and has what appears to be a White Chest Blaze. Maybe they are a couple?Nov 04, 2013

Our Regular Bear1188 viewsCritters are alive and well on Holly Slope. This Bear makes regular visits. Sometimes 2 or 3 times a week. Usually around Midnight. Leila and I ran into him one evening near the circle around 11pm on a late walk . Fortunately he wanted nothing to do with us and took off running across the dirt lot towards the ravine.Oct 26, 2013
