The Bear Is Back2427 viewsThe Bear is back after a short hiatus. I had heard that Bears don’t hibernate in warm climates like Southern California but maybe this one actually did hibernate for a short time.
He was actually on the street 3 nights in a row this week. He got into trash cans on a couple of nights and left a large pile of Scat in the street. Leila was excited. She was picking up the Bear’s scent on our morning walk.

Double Rainbow 9/4/20113473 viewsA high pressure system over the four corners area combined with a low pressure system off the southern california coast steered subtropical moisture into Southern California this evening. This provided Altadena residents with rare summer showers and a thunderstorm this evening.
This double Rainbow was seen at Sunset. (8 votes)

Two Times The Fun2455 viewsThis image clearly makes me think we have more than one bear visiting Holly Slope Rd. This ones color is more black and has what appears to be a White Chest Blaze. Maybe they are a couple? (7 votes)

Our Regular Bear2477 viewsCritters are alive and well on Holly Slope. This Bear makes regular visits. Sometimes 2 or 3 times a week. Usually around Midnight. Leila and I ran into him one evening near the circle around 11pm on a late walk . Fortunately he wanted nothing to do with us and took off running across the dirt lot towards the ravine. (7 votes)

Fly By1939 viewsTaken 1/1/05
To start off the 2005 Rose Parade, there was a beautiful flyby of the B-2A Bomber, accompanied by an F-15E Strike Eagle and an F-16C Fighting Falcon. In this view, as they depart into the sun, the F-15E is on the left and the F-16C is on the right. They flew along the parade route from West to East.
