JPL Under Siege267 viewsThursday 8/27 around 8:45 PM. Lynne and I went down to the Arroyo to see how the fire was going. It was an eerie sight to see the fire extending along the ridge behind JPL. It didn't look like it was going to get any better soon.

413 viewsThe 2008 Summer Olympics Games, and our coverage, was a huge success thanks to the hard work of everyone involved. The Olympics concluded with a magnificent Closing Ceremony and Fireworks seen around the World thanks to us.
Of course this is NOT a skyrocket from China! A passing airplane added the effect to this long one minute exposure.

While driving along the Saddle Road that goes between Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa, my Brother and I encountered this warning sign. We had read about the Military Base located in the area and the possibility of encountering Military Vehicles or Aircraft, but seeing this sign added a little excitement to the trip.

Hummer215 viewsPhot taken 10/8/05 in my front yard. The Mexicam Sage attracts quite a few Humming Birds. This year (2006) we had as many as 8-10 at a time fighting over the bush's beautiful purple blooms.
