Rainbow3768 viewsAltadena Weathercam captured a Rainbow this afternoon as a cold winter storm blew through the area. Only 0.91 inches of rain but temperatures are supposed to go real low tonight and snow level could drop to 1500 feet.

Kansas City Thunderstorm3673 viewsI was visiting Kansas City, MO and I was staying in the Downtown Marriott Hotel. A nice Thunderstorm was passing through and I was watching it out my window on the 14th Floor. I got to see several good lightning strikes and was able to capture this one with my camera. Taken with my Canon 5D, 30 second exposure @ f14, ISO 100.

Geminids #23649 viewsAs mentioned in the earlier photo, I had the WebCam set up to capture an image every minute. This is the second Geminid Meteor I captured. This one was in the early morning hours and the radiant had risen high in the sky and the metoer is going almost straight down in the middle of the image.

Faint Meteor3557 viewsThanks to Chuck Weiss of La Crescenta for watching the Altadena WeatherCam and identifying the meteor in this early morning WeatherCam Image. Look closely for a faint line in the upper left quadrant of the image.

She'll Be Comin' 'round The Mountain When She Comes3550 viewsThis was pointed out by Normand, one of the many fans of the Altadena WeatherCam. A nice shot of a helicopter circling over the San Gabriel's the other night. It was a Sunday evening so they were probably looking for a lost/overdue hiker. The Green and Red Navigation Lights cause the change in colors in the streak of light.

Geminds #13515 viewsI had the WebCam set up to capture an image every minute in an attempt to catch a meteor. This was in the evening and the radiant was still near the Eastern horizon. The meteor can be seen in the upper left quadrant of the photo. It's trajectory is near horizontal to the horizon.
